Review

The main gameplay is for you to match Boonkas of the same color and win in the mini games so you can defeat the Skours, drive them from their stronghold, and heal the land’s flora and fauna. You can choose to restore the land in a relaxed manner in Adventure Mode, test your reflexes in the game’s Blitz Mode, or chill in Beanstalk Mode.

Click and drag the Boonkas in order to find matches. Once you’ve put matching Boonkas side by side, you then need to match pixie jars so you can collect your matching Boonkas and lift them away. Note that if you fail to lift your linked Boonkas away, they will form a barrier that makes it difficult to move the tiles.

Lines are continuously added from the bottom of the screen, regardless of whether you collect your linked Boonkas or not. If the lines reach the top, a black cloud with Skours will appear. You have to make sure the field is cleared on time, or else everything will be destroyed by a lightning bolt, and the game will end.

The Boonkas you manage to remove will help fill a growth meter on the right side of the screen. When the meter is completely filled, the level is deemed complete, and you will be shown the tree you have restored before the game proceeds to the next level. The game rewards you with bonus points if you are able to create special patterns with your linked Boonkas.

In Adventure Mode, you will see cutscenes between levels. In Blitz Mode, your goal is to eliminate all linked Boonkas as quickly as possible. Finally, in Beanstalk Mode, you simply need to amass points in a game level that never ends.

Have fun playing this cute and challenging puzzle game that’s sure to put your skills and creativity to the test. Fair warning: It’s impossible to play this game without admiring how it is presented.
